Brief: The Concept Development unit was a research project focused on how we conceptualise our ideas leading up to our Final Major Project. The mind-map presents my first initial ideas; the On Demand economy, data, technology and looking at the idea of Utopia. As I thoroughly enjoyed researching the On Demand economy in my second year I wanted to revisit this research and expand on it through looking at recent technological developments. I researched new technology trends and services and highlighted that there was one particular technology that everyone seemed to be discussing; Artificial Intelligence (AI). Through researching AI I noticed that it was blurring the lines and narrowing the divide between human and machine. Our relationship with technology is dramatically changing due to AI and Cognitive Computing. We are becoming emotionally attached and reliant and people are even falling in love with different forms of robotics from Amazon's Alexa to humanoids. I created a website (link above) which documents all my ideas and research on the advancement of technology and our future creating a discursive space for people to think about our relationship with technology. After this research I started to think about human culture, noticing that even museums which have been culturally significant to humans for hundreds of years were changing because of the advancement of technology. For my Final Major Project, I have decided that I want to focus on the museum of the future and how it will present the changes in our relationship with technology and machine.
